Reconnaissance based on intercepting and reading an adversary's radio communications.
In the Second Polish Republic there was a Radio Intelligence Section (Referat Radiowywiadu) of the Second Department, which in mid-1931 was merged with the Own Ciphers Section (Referat Szyfrów Własnych) to form the Cipher Bureau. In 1919–1920, Maksymilian Ciężki read Soviet radio messages as commander of the radio station in Wilno (Vilnius).1
