A function in the system for protecting classified information. In Poland it is performed by the Head of the ABW.

Article 11 of the Act on the Protection of Classified Information: “The Head of the ABW performs the function of the national security authority”. Under Article 10, the ABW and the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) supervise the system for protecting classified information – the SKW in units subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence (MON), the ABW everywhere else.¹
